Recorded Wednesday 18 September 2019 — with Guildford Ramblers
Distance: 5 miles (8.1km) — OS Route Map
I had been thinking that Wood Street would be a new place to take my ambling group. I had walked there several times before but, as I couldn’t remember exactly where I had been, I decided to join this ramble to refresh my memory.
We started from Wood Street Green and walked up White Hart Lane and followed the path past the Cricket Club. We then turned left and joined the Christmas Pie path to go along the edge of Backside Common. We turned left again through Broadstreet Common and across the road past farms and fields to Fairlands. We continued along the edge of the estate near the main road before turning left through a little wood and past a pond and then through fields back to the green in Wood Street.
The area is flat and easy going but it can be muddy in places after rain.
